We invite all youth to serve at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. This is a great opportunity to participate in the liturgy. Serving at the altar is a big responsibility. The priest and deacon count on your showing up when scheduled. You should be dressed neatly and arrive early. A mature and reverent attitude is needed while serving.
ALTAR SERVERS:
· Need to be in grades 3rd -12th
· Have already received the Sacrament of Holy Communion
· Should attend Mass faithfully along with their parents

Lectors play a key role in the celebration of Mass. A lector is a Minister of the Word who proclaims God’s Word to the assembled faith community. Being a lector is more than reading. This ministry involves studying, preparing and gaining an understanding of God’s Word that can be transferred to the assembly in a clear and understandable manner. Call to find out about our next training.

Music Ministers aurally enhance the experience of spiritual reflection, worship, and the liturgy. If you feel God is calling you to share your talents as a vocalist or instrumentalist in our parish, we will work with you at your current skill level and find a place for you to serve.
Each music group leader rehearses for Masses at different dates and times. Rehearsals generally last at least one hour weekly to learn and prepare a musical performance for each Mass. More rehearsal time may be required for longer Masses on special occasions. Please contact us to learn more about how to get involved with one or more of our music groups.
